NA Deputies today focused their plenary session on the implementation of socio-economic tasks in 2009 and the plan for 2010.
They all were unanimous that, in the context of global economic difficulties and challenges in 2009, the Government showed a much better performance, especially in predicting and responding to the situations.
The lawmakers applauded the Government’s timely adoption of effective stimulus packages to push up economic growth and guarantee social security.
2010: focus placed on macro-economic stability
Many deputies asserted that in 2010, the Government should prioritize macro-economic stability, inflation prevention, and better-quality growth.
According to them, it is essential to have flexible monetary and fiscal policies to secure the balance of payment, proper interest rates and exchange rates, so as to promote production and export.
Some suggested some overall plans to woo foreign investors and long-term strategies for economic development.
Social security and human resource nurturing still highlighted
Top-ranking deputies agreed that poverty eradication and human resource nurturing must continue to be underlined in development plans for 2010 and the following years.
More preferential loans and incentives should be provided to farmers, poor households and rural areas, with longer terms, easier procedures and conditions, some emphasized.
Besides, many deputies required to tighten the management and supervision over the exploitation of natural resources and minerals./.
