The Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee on Friday announced its Socio-economic Development Master Plan to 2020.

Accordingly, Ninh Thuan will focus on realizing four key economic programs, said provincial Chairman Nguyen Duc Thanh.
The four programs set to convert Ninh Thuan into a center for clean energy and salty production, a key tourist attraction of national and international standards, a hub for beverage production, and a qualified educational center.
The locality’s GDP is projected to grow 16-18% in 2011-2015 and 19-20% in 2016-2020. Its average personal income is expected to increase to US $ 1,400/year by 2015 and US $2,800 by 2020.
By 2015, the industry-construction, agriculture-forestry-aquaculture, and service sectors to the provincial economy will be 40%, 25% and 35%, respectively.
To achieve the above targets, Ninh Thuan said it will devise strategic solutions for mobilizing funding. The locality estimated that it may need some VND 260 trillion for the next ten years.
Besides, the province’s business environment, provincial competitiveness index, and workforce development will also need to be improved.
Ninh Thuan is the first locality in Vietnam to hire American and British consultants to make the Master Plan to 2020 and with a vision to 2030.
The detail of the plan will be introduced to the public at a conference held in Phan Rang Thap Cham city on December 10 this year. The conference was designed to call for investment for 46 projects of Ninh Thuan.
