Acronym

(MPI) - With the theme "Vietnam: Aspiration for Prosperity - Priority and Action", Vietnam Reform and Development Forum 2019 (VRDF 2019) organized under the collaboration of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the World Bank (WB), the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAid) and Vietnam’s development partners will take place on September 19, 2019 in Hanoi.

Following the directions of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with the WB, AusAid and Vietnam's development partners has prepared the Forum's contents and programs.
 
Specifically, the topic and contents of the Forum have been agreed to meet four requirements: Attaching to reform and development; Reflecting the major issues that people are concerned about; Contributing practically to the 13th National Congress of the Party, especially in the study for formulating the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2021-2030 and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025; Having international or regional stature to enhance sharing and improve Vietnam's status on international and regional forums.
 
With the theme "Vietnam: Aspiration for Prosperity - Priority and Action", the Forum will take place in three sessions. Namely, Session 1: Heading towards modern and integrated market economy institutions; Session 2: Innovating to overcome the middle-income trap; Plenary session: Acting for a prosperous Vietnam.
 
Accordingly, the sessions will be organized in the form of group discussion of speakers. The Prime Minister will attend the Plenary Session and deliver a direction speech at the Forum.
 
Attending the Forum there will be representatives of ministries, departments and branches; leading experts and scholars in the world; representatives of a number of countries in the region and the world who have experience related to the Forum's topic; Representatives of Vietnam's development partners; Representatives of domestic and foreign enterprises, corporations; Experts, scholars and representatives of research institutions in the country.
 
As scheduled, a discussion among speakers, participants of international discussions of the Forum with the Editorial Board of the Socio-Economic Sub-Committee to genuinely discuss issues related to the Forum's topic in order to contribute more helpfully to the research for formulating the Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030 and the Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025 will be held before the Forum./.
