Welcoming Chumi to visit Vietnam and work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Deputy Minister Ngoc said that Vietnam always attaches great importance to fostering its traditional friendship and cooperation with Tanzania, and wishes to enhance political, diplomatic and economic cooperation with Vietnam, ahead of the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-Tanzania diplomatic relations (1965–2025)
Despite the geographical distance, significant progress has been made between Vietnam and Tanzania, with considerable potential for further economic, trade, and investment collaboration. Deputy Minister Ngoc emphasised that the MPI will work closely with Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies to enhance business exchanges and explore investment opportunities.
For his part, Deputy Minister Chumi expressed his pleasure to work with the MPI, and lauding Vietnam’s significant achievements in various sectors, particularly in socio-economic development over the years.
Chumi urged Vietnam to share its development experiences with Tanzania in areas such as industrialization, agriculture, and manufacturing. He also proposed exploring cooperative ventures in sectors where Tanzania is strong and Vietnam has needs, including textiles, cotton, minerals, and hydrogen.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged development experiences and strategies for attracting foreign investment and economic transformation. They agreed to continue their support for each other in multilateral forums and to promote negotiations and the signing of legal frameworks to facilitate bilateral cooperation, including an investment promotion and protection agreement./.
