Deputy Minister Phuong highly appreciated the IMF’s assistance as well as their Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting Training Programme for the 2023-2025 period, provided for the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment and the “1317” policy working group.

The deputy minister hoped that the IMF experts will continue to share experiences with Vietnamese side in order to research macroeconomic issues for the draft outline for the 5-year assessment report on the implementation of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy 2021-2030, and the direction and tasks for socio-economic development for the 2026-2030 period.

For his part, Andrew hailed the close coordination of the MPI in implementing joint works and the training programme, affirming that the IMF will continue to work closely with the ministry to successfully execute the training program as planned. They will also help participants accessing and inputting information, using tools to make visual forecasts, and share expertise and techniques to apply the course in practice.

The IMF currently has provided training support and consultancy on macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, and financial programming for the “1317”, as well as officials engaged in macroeconomic analysis in: 2-3 years training programmes; domestic training through online workshops; training combined with direct works with IMF experts; participation in direct training courses with IMF working groups./.
