(MPI) - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung hosted a working session in Hanoi on March 27 with the delegation from the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) led by Vice Chairman Yang Weiqun.

Weiqun expressed his delight at Vietnam’s splendid development achievements in recent years, and shared that China’ economy resumed growth and contributed 30% to the global economic growth. The Chinese Government has set a GDP growth target of 5% in 2024, and wishes to closely cooperate with Vietnam to build a prosperous future together, he added.

China and Vietnam are good neighbours, good friends. He said China always puts emphasis on utilising human resources in some areas as logistics and digital economy development; and hopes to further enhance partnership with Vietnam in railways development, education like vocational and human resources training, traditional medicine, and small community projects.

For his part, Deputy Minister Trung thanked Weiqun for the extensive information on development cooperation. He noted that Vietnam shares and supports China’s initiatives to achieve a developed economy, and looks forward to learning experiences and keep pace with China’s development.

China has developed rapidly in recent times, having initiatives in developing free ports and free trade zones that bring prospects for the country. Those were valuable lessons for Vietnam to learn and have development plans for itself. Deputy Minister Trung said the country strives to receive and use resources as efficiently as possible to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.

The deputy minister thanked CIDCA for its partnership with the MPI in the past, and affirmed the ministry’s continued to closely coordinate with the agency to effectively implement cooperation projects in the future./.
