Deputy Minister highly appreciated the role of MRI in policy consultation and research, and its proposal for the Japanese government to provide ODA funding for Vietnam’s important projects. This has helped Japan maintain its position as one of Vietnam’s leading partners and the largest ODA provider.
Yabuta, for his part, expressed his pleasure with the close cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and MRI in recent times. He highlighted the organisation of specialised seminars to share cooperation information aimed at promoting and expanding investment from Japanese companies into Vietnam, as well as MRI’s active participation in the Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative in the new era.
The MRI President looked forward to expand innovative business activities to address Vietnam’s socio-economic issues. He also shared MRI’s collaboration with the MPI in researching issues related to macroeconomic stability, inflation control, economic growth, climate change response, human resource development, labor productivity enhancement, supporting industries, the semiconductor industry, green growth, and potential cooperation areas between the two sides in the future.
Agreeing with Yabuta’s proposals, Deputy Minister Phuong emphasised the importance of building high-quality human resources in the fields of innovation, science, technology, and emerging industries. He proposed that Japan offer training courses for highly skilled engineers and share experiences in establishing innovation investment funds and utilising resources effectively.
Both sides affirmed their determination to strengthen cooperation and trust not only between the governments but also across various sectors and agencies of both countries through diverse cooperation activities, mutual assistance, and sharing. They agreed to implement cooperation plans that contribute to the development of relations between the two countries, which have recently been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world./.
