Minister Dung noted that Vietnam and Australia share a robust cooperative relationship, particularly since elevating their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in March 2024.

He emphasised the need for more vigorous, practical, and effective enhancements in trade, investment, aid issues, and official development assistance (ODA), and welcomed more Australian investors in Vietnam. The Ministry of Planning and Investment will continue to work closely with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam to facilitate conditions for investors.

The minister said that there remains ample room for cooperation, calling for the Australian government’s attention and support to enable Vietnamese businesses to invest in Australia’s priority regions and sectors.

He thanked and appreciated Australia’s aid to Vietnam over the years since the programs and projects have been effectively implemented, helping Vietnam address many challenges and significantly contributing to its socio-economic development.

Vietnam hopes to continue receiving Australia's assistance, particularly in fields such as clean energy transition, digital transformation, innovation, climate change, research and program design for supporting the Mekong Delta region, and initiatives like the 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice. He also suggested Australia help Vietnam developing human resources and providing more scholarships for Vietnamese students.

The minister proposed Australia collaborate with MPI’s Vietnam National Innovation Centre (NIC) in conducting scientific research and training human resources, especially in the semiconductor industry; establishing laboratories for research and development, training, and incubation in the semiconductor sector; and providing training programmes, support materials, software, and instructors for Vietnamese institutes and universities.

Goledzinowski, for his part, shared about priority programs and projects supporting Vietnam, and affirmed Australia’s support for their businesses to explore and invest in Vietnam, recognising the substantial potential and opportunities. Australia aims to help Vietnam become a dynamic economy integrated into the value chain, supporting sectors like education, mining, agriculture with high technology, and more efficient water resource management, he said./.
