(MPI) - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong on July 22 presented the insignia “For the cause of Vietnam’s planning and investment sector” to Philippe FOUET, Chief Representative of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Phuong spoke highly of the AFD’s contributions and efforts for Vietnam’s development as well as the career of the planning and investment sector. These encouraging results were reaped thanks to efforts of both sides, including those of the AFD chief representative. Philippe paid much attention to seek funding of projects and financial assistance for Vietnam, helping the country innovate and reform, he added.

Presenting the insignia to the chief representative, the deputy minister said that Philippe’s contributions to strengthening the economic cooperation and promoting joint projects between the two nations.

Deputy minister Phuong hoped that in the coming time, the two agencies will continue to coordinate closely to foster innovation, reform and efficiency, with new achievements made in economic and trade exchanges.

Expressing his honour and appreciation for the recognition, Philippe thanked the ministry for supporting and closely coordinating with the AFD. Regardless of his future positions, she will continue to support the ministry implementing the tasks set forth, creating driving force to promote the country’s sustainable development in the next period./.
