At the meeting, Minister Dung said that Vietnam and China are enjoying good political relations and comprehensive cooperation at all spheres. This is a very important time to strongly implement and concretise the high-level perceptions and agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders.

Mentioning the Vietnam-China joint statement on continuing deepening and elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, the minister said the two sides agreed to promote transport connectivity, particularly the standard-gauge railway routes across the shared border.

He spoke highly of CRCC’s achievements and experiences in this sector, and encouraged the company to expand its cooperation and investment in Vietnam to the field of infrastructure, particularly transport infrastructure.  

Vietnam is working to boost railway transport and will spend significant resources to a number of key projects like the North - South railway, seaports, airports, and new energy sources such as emission reduction, he said, calling on CRRC, to cooperate closely and comprehensively with typical Vietnamese enterprises in manufacturing locomotives and carriages, and step up science-technology transfer in packaging and test service.

Minister Dung also suggested the company establish a research and training center on producing locomotives and carriages in the country, develop human resources training, and implement specific works to ensure fastest progress with suitable costs, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s railway industry. He also welcomed CRRC to participate in other potential fields such as new energy.

Briefing the minister on the operations of the company as well as their abilities in developing railway industry, Cao said that CRRC wishes to continue providing railway products and cooperate with Vietnam in the future.

In particular, the company is ready to study and participate in the building of major projects such as Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong standard-gauge railway route, the Dong Dang -Hanoi and Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong, and join in infrastructure development in Vietnam, especially highways connecting the two countries’ borders and economies.

He said CRCC will provide assistance to help Vietnam promote localization, share experiences in human resource training, and support in technology transfer as mentioned by the minister, making contribution to the country’s railway industry and new energy transportation development.

The CRCC general director believed that Vietnam will improve its efficiency and develop faster through having specific cooperation. He took this occasion to invite Minister Dung to visit CRCC headquarter in China soon./.
