(MPI) - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung hosted a reception in Hanoi on January 14 for Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam to present him the insignia “For the cause of Vietnam’s planning and investment sector”.

Minister Dung praised Choi’s close coordination with Vietnam to propose recommendation in perfecting policies, and building an open and transparent investment and business environment. He has actively put forward Samsung to invest in Vietnam, which contributed significantly to the local socio-economic development, as well as partnered with the MPI’s National Innovation Centre (NIC) to promote innovation activities such develop innovative and high-tech capacity for young Vietnamese people, and develop a technology talent development programme called ‘Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) placed at the NIC Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.

Minister Dung stated that Samsung’s investment as well as their production and business plans will be a bright spot in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea; affirmed that his ministry will accompany and create all favorable conditions for the group to operate effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.

Expressing his honor to receive the insignia, Choi thanked the MPI and competent Vietnamese agencies for their effective support and cooperation during his tenure in Vietnam, and assist Samsung in addressing difficulties in the past time.

He emphasised that Samsung Vietnam will continue to promote its effective operation in Vietnam, and do utmost efforts to contribute to the local socio-economic development./.
