(MPI) - Minister Nguyen Chi Dung hosted a reception on June 28 for Philipp Rosler, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Switzerland, former Deputy Prime Minister of Germany and a Swiss business delegation who are visiting Vietnam.

During a reception for Rosler and Swiss business delegation in Hanoi, Minister Dung affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to cooperation with Switzerland and seek opportunities to promote the two countries’ ties in economy and trade.
The minister asked the two sides focus on the areas of Switzerland’s strength and Vietnam’s demand, particularly when Vietnam is an attractive destination for investors with stable political system, favorable geographic location, large market, abundant workforce, high-quality human resources and an open economy. The country signed numerous free trade agreements, accelerated the economic restructuring and institutional reform and actively improved the business investment environment, quality of the institutional mechanisms to attract FDI enterprises to invest in infrastructure projects.
The minister said Vietnam and Switzerland should further bolster cooperation towards mutual benefits. Vietnam’ orientations are to attract investment in selective manners such as advanced and high-added value technology, manufacturing, finance, banking, infrastructure development, renewable energy and digital transformation.
He noted that there is still ample room for growth in aviation, education - training, agriculture, logistics, etc and asked Swiss businesses to continue expanding their investment in Vietnam. The Ministry of Planning and Investment is willing to coordinate with Swiss businesses to share experiences, Dung said.
Philipp Rosler informed the minister that he is advancing Swiss businesses to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam. He hopes that there are more and more projects between the two sides in the future./.
