Deputy Minister Phuong expressed his delight at the growing partnership between the two countries, especially 2022 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (23/9/1992 - 23/9/2022).
The host informed that Vietnam has recovered strongly with a GDP growth in the first six months of 2022 increased by 6.42%. However, the world and Vietnam economy still faces many fluctuations as inflation and the increase of gasoline are greatly affecting the development of the country.
The cooperation between Vietnam and Azerbaijan remains modest and has yet to match potential, Phuong affirmed that the MPI always supports and creates optimal conditions to further foster the two countries’ partnership. Vietnam stands ready to coordinate with other countries, and Azerbaijan for mutual benefits and prosperity. The deputy minister proposed the two countries to invest in some potential fields such as economy, trade, investment, education and training. Room remains to boost Vietnam-Azerbaijan cooperation, Phuong said.
For his part, Ambassador Anar Imanov praised the traditional friendship of Vietnam and Azerbaijan, which shows through all-level delegations and Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association.
Although substantial results have been achieved between Vietnam and Azerbaijan, it is still not really commensurate with the potential of the two sides, he said, proposing both sides step up exchanges in economic and trade cooperation and bilateral investment when Azerbaijan wishes to attract investment from Vietnam.
He suggested the two sides rolling out measures to promote investment activities, connect the two countries’ enterprises. The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam hopes to receive experiences from Vietnam and the MPI in the process of attracting foreign investment, the ambassador stressed./.
