(MPI) - Deputy Minister Tran Duy Dong presented the “Achievement Award for the career of Vietnam’s Planning and Investment” to Envoy OKABE Daisuke from the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam on July 27.

Deputy Minister Dong highlighted the strong growth and traditional friendship of the Vietnam-Japan relations, adding that the two countries’ relationship is at its best ever as Japan is leading foreign investor in Vietnam. Japan has promoted concessional loans and assisted Vietnam in implementing infrastructure projects, technical assistance and high-quality human resource training programmes.
OKABE Daisuke and the Embassy of Japan has actively coordinated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to promote investment cooperation between the two countries. OKABE supported Vietnam to successfully organize the high-level visits of the two Prime Ministers; cooperated with Vietnamese agencies to actively implement activities within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Joint Initiative phase eight on schedule. He has made significant contributions in promoting the investment environment and attracting Japanese investment into Vietnam, the deputy minister emphasised.
To show acknowledgement of OKABE’s achievements and contributions in the process of building and developing Vietnam’s Planning and Investment sector, the MPI presented the “Achievement Award for the career of Vietnam’s Planning and Investment" to OKABE. Deputy Minister Dong hoped OKABE would continue to support and promote Japanese investment in Vietnam in his new position in the future.
Highly honored for the Achievement Award as well as the accomplishments between the Japanese Embassy - MPI and between Vietnam-Japan over the past time, OKABE thanked the MPI for its close engagement and support during his working term in Vietnam. He affirmed that Japanese businesses want to invest in Vietnam in various aspects and areas./.
