(MPI) - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung had a meeting with his Lao counterpart Khamjane Vongphosy in Hanoi on December 21.

Minister Nguyen Chi Dung asked participants to frankly discuss a number of issues related to the preparation for the meeting of the Politburos and the upcoming 45th meeting of the Vietnam - Laos Intergovernmental Committee. The meeting will be reported to competent authorities of Vietnam, he added.
For his part, Lao Minister Khamjane Vongphosy spoke highly of the cooperation between the two countries in general, and the two ministries in particular with numerous effective activities to intensify bilateral relations in a more substantive and practical manner. He informed the Vietnamese side about the implementation of some projects, stressing that Laos encourages Vietnamese businesses to explore and invest in the country in the near future.
The meeting reaped encouraging results and gave directions and specific progress to cooperation projects between the two countries. The two ministers affirmed to continue promote the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and ask ministries, sectors and localities to implement activities towards strengthening investment cooperation between Vietnam and Lao./.
