Minister Nguyen Chi Dung propose group of tasks and solutions in 2023 and priority orientations
(MPI) - Speaking at the plenary session of the 5th Vietnam Economic Forum in Hanoi on December 17, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung underscored, in order to overcome challenges, solve bottlenecks in the economic development, take advantage of all opportunities, maximise investment resources of the whole society and participation of people, businesses, achieve the socio-economic development goals in 2023 and for the 2021-2025 period adopted by the Party Central Committee and the National Assembly, and adapt to new economic models, we must drastically implement a number of tasks and solutions in 2023 and priority orientations.

According to the minister, in order to achieve socio-economic development goals and adapt to new economic models and trends, Vietnam needs to drastically promote the implementation of a number key tasks and solutions.

First, we need to steadily and consistently adhere to the guidelines, goals and direction of the Party and State; put priorities to stabilising macro-economy, controlling inflation, promoting growth, ensuring major balances of the economy; harmoniously and synchronously combine fiscal and monetary policies in line with economic recovery; stabilise macro-economy; ensure social security and livelihoods; promote growth drivers such as investment, consumption and exports.

Second, innovation, reform, improvement of the socialist-oriented market economy institution, integration, effective and efficient law enforcement are prerequisites to promote the country’s development.

Third, the country must focus on developing synchronous strategic infrastructure system, especially traffic infrastructure; speeding up a number of key, national and inter-regional projects and urban infrastructure.

Fourth, it is important to maximise human factor, considering people as the centre, the subject, the main resource and the goal of development.

Fifth, Vietnam focuses on rapid and sustainable development based on science-technology, innovation and digital transformation, considering these as important factors to improve productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy.

Sixth, it is important to implement six resolutions of the Politburo on regional development; promulgate regulations and institutions on coordination for regional linkage in the 2021-2030 period to synchronously develop, creating linkages between regions associated with economic regions, and with production and business.

Seventh, we must effectively implement the socio-economic recovery and development program in 2023 to continue reduce costs, support production and business activities, promote growth engines, and ensure social security and people’s livelihoods.

Eighth, we must resolutely and persistently struggle to firmly protect national independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity; harmoniously combine socio-economic and cultural with building national defence and environmental protection; maintain political security; ensure social order and safety for people.

Minister Dung said, Vietnam will encounter difficulties and challenges in meeting development goals amid fluctuations in the world. Hence, it requires not only the unanimity, efforts and determination of the entire political system, people and businesses to perform tasks but also support from the global community, governments, international organisations, scientists and experts at home and abroad./.
