MPI deputy minister pleased to see that the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Japan has continuously developed comprehensively, extensively and practically in all spheres. Japan is a leading economic partner of Vietnam, and economic cooperation, people-to-people and cultural exchanges continue to be deepened.
Governor Fukuda, for his part, said Tochigi prefecture has signed a cooperation agreement with Vinh Phuc province in November 2022 in order to enhance coordination in investment, trade, agriculture and other industries, and to establish focal points in relevant departments and sectors.
The prefecture pledged to continue coordinate with Vinh Phuc province and other Vietnamese localities, voicing that signing a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the MPI will further promote its collaboration.
Chairman of Tochigi People’s Council Yamagata SHUJI said, the prefecture pays much attention to economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with Vietnam, especially since 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.
Deputy Minister Ngoc spoke highly of the cooperation agreement between Tochigi and the MPI, adding that the ministry is concretising cooperation contents to optimise their potential in areas of Tochigi’s strength and Vietnam’s demand, as well as to have a long-term vision towards and effective and substantive development.
She suggested encouraging more investment in Vietnam in the fields of the nation’s priority such as healthcare, food, garment and mechanical engineering. As a state management of foreign investment, the MPI will work closely to further promote investment activities of the prefecture, marking new strides in Vietnam-Japan relations, the deputy minister noted./.
